Video Converter either remuxes your file into a new container without touching the video/audio streams (fast, lossless, when the codecs are already compatible) or re-encodes when the target format needs a different codec — for example converting to/from WebM, which uses different video codecs than MP4/MOV/MKV.

Limitations
Uploads are capped in size for reliable processing, and only MP4, MOV, WEBM, MKV, AVI files are accepted here. For very large files or advanced editing needs, dedicated desktop software may work better.

Is converting to MP4 lossless?
When the source and target use compatible codecs, yes — it's a fast container remux. When they don't, the video is re-encoded, which is very close to but not bit-for-bit identical to the source.
Which format should I choose?
MP4 has the widest device/app support. WebM is common for web video. MKV supports more codecs and multiple audio/subtitle tracks.
