Audio Cutter — free online tool
Shorten a recording, remove silence at the start of a track or isolate a section to keep. Vidlora's audio cutter extracts the time range you specify from an MP3, WAV or AAC file without re-encoding the sound: the format stays the same and the quality is not altered.

Nasıl çalışır?
Cutting by stream copy
The tool does not alter the sound: it copies the portion of the audio stream between your two points into a new file, without decoding or re-encoding. The bitrate, sample rate and codec stay those of the original. An MP3 stays an MP3, a WAV stays a WAV, an AAC stays an AAC. Processing is practically instant, even for a recording several hours long.
Cut precision
Compressed formats split the sound into small frames (about 26 ms for an MP3 frame, 23 ms for an AAC frame). The cut therefore lands on a frame boundary, which gives an accuracy on the order of a few tens of milliseconds, imperceptible to the ear. In an uncompressed WAV, the cut is even finer. That is enough for speech as well as music.
Steps
Upload the file, enter the start and end of the section to keep, start processing, then download the clip. Listen to the ends to check that you have not cut off a word or a note. One continuous range is extracted per operation; for several pieces, repeat the operation from the original and keep each result separately.
Use cases
Remove the announcement or the silence from a dictation, isolate the answer from a recorded interview, prepare a clip of a few seconds for a phone ringtone, cut a speaker out of a meeting recording, or tidy up the start and end of a track. Since the operation does not re-encode, you can repeat cuts without accumulating losses.
Accepted formats
The tool accepts MP3, WAV and AAC files. The output format follows the input: choosing an MP3 gives an MP3. To switch from one to another afterwards, use the MP3 to WAV or WAV to MP3 converters. For a specific ringtone format, check your phone's requirements, as each system imposes its own constraints.
Common problems
A click at the start or end of the clip comes from a cut in the middle of a waveform: shift the cut point slightly toward a silence. If the clip's duration seems slightly different from the one requested, frame alignment is the cause. To lighten the file after cutting, run it through the audio compressor, which encodes it to MP3 at a reduced bitrate.
Sınırlamalar
Only one continuous range is extracted per operation, and the cut aligns to audio frames: accuracy is a few tens of milliseconds. The tool changes neither volume nor quality, adds no fade and accepts only MP3, WAV and AAC formats.
Sık sorulan sorular
Does cutting reduce the sound quality?
No. The audio stream is copied without re-encoding: the part kept is identical to the original, same bitrate, same sample rate.
Does the output format change?
No, it stays that of your file: an MP3 gives an MP3, a WAV gives a WAV and an AAC gives an AAC. To change format, use a converter afterwards.
Can I add a fade in or fade out?
No, the tool is limited to extracting a time range. A fade requires re-encoding and a dedicated audio editor.
Can I make a ringtone with this tool?
Yes for isolating the clip, from a sound you have the rights to. Then check the format and duration your phone requires, which may call for an additional conversion.
Can I cut several sections at once?
No, one continuous range per operation. Repeat the operation for each clip from the original file.
How do I make the file smaller after cutting?
Run the clip through Vidlora's audio compressor, which re-encodes it to MP3 at a reduced bitrate. This is useful for large WAV files.
