How to create a GIF from a video
A GIF is built by sampling still frames from the video at a chosen rate and packaging them as a looping animation — with no audio and much less efficient compression than modern video formats.

Start with a short clip
Trim to just the few seconds you actually want before converting. Because GIF compression is so much less efficient than video, even a short clip can produce a surprisingly large file — starting short keeps it manageable.
Lower the frame rate and width
A GIF rarely needs the source's full frame rate to look smooth — 8–12 fps is often enough for typical clips. Reducing width (height scales proportionally) cuts file size roughly with the square of the reduction.
Remember: no audio
The GIF format has no audio track at all, by design — if sound matters, you'll need to share the clip as a short video instead.
