How it works
How trimming works
Audio Cutter cuts your video to a start and end time using a fast, lossless stream copy — the video and audio data itself isn't re-encoded, so there's no quality loss and the trim finishes almost instantly regardless of file length.
Why it's lossless
Because no re-encoding happens, the trimmed clip keeps the exact original bitrate, resolution and codec. The only limitation is that the cut points snap to the nearest keyframe, which is typically a fraction of a second.
Limitations
Uploads are capped in size for reliable processing, and only MP3, WAV, AAC files are accepted here. For very large files or advanced editing needs, dedicated desktop software may work better.
